MUNUSAL
2024 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
DANIEL ALBERTO KAHN SASSO
PRESIDENT
“I was never aware of any other option but to question everything.”
- Noam Chomsky
A native to rainy Panama City, Panama, where he lived for the first 19 years of his life, Dani has had Salamanca as his chosen home since 2021. Despite starting off as a Law student, he quickly found out that Global Studies was what he truly wanted to do, so he found his way into the University of Salamanca.
He found his passion for Model UN early on in High School, and has not stopped attending conferences ever since, taking on roles from being a delegate, to a chair, to a staff member, to a Secretary-General. He feels extremely lucky to have gotten the opportunity to participate in conferences all over the globe, in countries such as Colombia, the United States, the Dominican Republic and Canada.

Dani first joined MUNUSAL in 2021, and he served as a member of the Secretariat in MUNUSAL 2022, chairing the International Labour Organisation. He served as Secretary in 2022/2023, and after a fruitful Erasmus semester in Paris he is ready to take on his role as President and work with this year’s incredible Executive Committee to continue steering MUNUSAL towards success.
LUCÍA GONZÁLEZ CILLEROS
SECRETARY & PUBLIC RELATIONS

Lucía is a small-town girl from the province of Salamanca (Martín de Yeltes), who is turning 20 and is about to commence her last year of the Global Studies degree (from which she will spend half of it in Sciences Po Lille).

Having chosen this academic path, she is interested in many of the areas that it covers (international relations, politics and law), besides from the things she enjoys the most from her free time: books, music, a good film, and spending quality time
with friends and family. Oh, and I almost forgot, she is a coffee enthusiast.

She found MUNUSAL 2022 to be a very enhancing experience regarding the learning of many skills, both academic and social ones. Later on, the feedback she felt and received from her work as public relations in the ExCom for MUNUSAL 2023, has boosted her confidence to another level.

She is so passionate about this association, and is so grateful for all of the people she has met on her way and those who have guided her and have left it in good hands. She is so excited for her role as a Secretary alongside the amazing Daniel this year!

She is also currently studying law, a career she is passionate about, and this will be her third year with the Munusal family. Thanks to her participation as a delegate in her first year, Carla discovered that the United Nations model is the perfect opportunity to experience immersion in debates with people from all over the world.

She attended the Youth Action Week 2022 in Strasbourg, France, for the campaign of the Council of Europe Youth Here: Democracy Now! as a delegate from the Servei Civil Internacional de Catalunya.
Àneu started MUNing last year and after the enriching experience she had during it decided to join the Excom as a vocal. Her main goals are to give the newcomers a warm welcome and make them lose the same trembling shyness as the one she had the very first day she spoke in front of the UNHCR committee representing India. In 2023 she was the photographer of the conference, say cheese when you see her!

“Wherever you go, go with all your Heart”, Confucius.
Pablo was born in Coria, a town in Extremadura, in 2000. When he was 16, he got involved in social activism by volunteering in the animal shelter of his region. He also became the vice president and public relations of the Educational Assembly of the city where he studied high school. At 18, right after finishing high school and before university, he wanted to bring social activism to the next level. Thus, he worked in Warsaw (Poland) as a volunteer in the European Solidarity Corps. After that, he started a BA in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. However, he had already realised he wanted to devote his life to helping our world. Hence, he left that BA and enrolled in the one in Global Studies at the University of Salamanca.
In 2021, during the pandemic, he enjoyed an Erasmus at the University of Tübingen (Germany). In 2022, he graduated from a BA, and this year he is about to graduate from a MA in International Development Studies at Utrecht University (the Netherlands).
He has been highly interested in MUNs since he started at the USAL, but the pandemic did not allow him to live the whole experience until 2022. Finally, he took part in the MUNUSAL 2022 as a delegate in the Organisation of American States and was awarded the Best Delegate of his committee. Last year, he was responsible for MUNUSAL External Relations. This year, after the fantastic MUNUSAL 2023, the retirement of some ExCom members, and the high involvement of the rookies, he could not abandon his beloved comrades on the way to MUNUSAL 2024.

“I see my path, but I don’t know where it leads. Not knowing where I am going is what
inspires me to travel it." - Rosalía de Castro
Ana was born in 2002, in the city of Vigo, almost at the border with Portugal. She always longed for a future outside of her hometown, but as being with her family was all she knew, going to Salamanca to study a BA in Global Studies seemed like a big change. It ended up being key for developing an interest for international law and human rights. Currently, she will begin her second BA in European Law at Maastricht University (Netherlands), hoping it will bring her closer to her dream of working in international courts.
As she spent some time out of Spain doing Erasmus, in Estonia and in Czech Republic, she felt that her last semester in Salamanca had to count. First thing she though, participating in MUNUSAL. She represented Mozambique in the UNSC addressing the situation in Ethiopia and handling crisis such as when her country invaded Zambia. The excitement and debate, but also the many friendships, made her continue participating, even outside Spanish borders.
She has always been passionate about international affairs, as well as being prideful of her mother language, Galician, and own culture. In her free time, she likes to sing and play the guitar, but she feels now her time will be occupied by more MUNs.

She has participated in multiple conferences as a delegate, chair, and as a member of the executive committee, and has been lucky enough to attend conferences in cities such as New York, Montreal, and Santo Domingo. One of the things she appreciates the most about the world of MUN is the opportunity to meet people from around the world and form connections with others.

She hopes to bring more people into the MUN “cult”, especially those like herself who study things that are not necessarily MUN-related but want to try it out. Now, her goal is to bring her artistic flair into the ExCom while working hard to make MUNUSAL’s content the best (and most aesthetically pleasing!) it can be.

sebastián cuevas
Sebastián Cuevas was born in Venezuela 22 years ago, due to the situation in his country he had to emigrate to Panama where he spent almost all his youth and where he began his life in the world of the MUN, after 9 years, he had to move to Peru to finish his baccalaureate and finally to Spain to study at the university.
He currently studies Political Science at the University of Salamanca. For Sebastián, having moved between these countries has allowed him to have different cultural experiences and also to think in a slightly more open way. Since he was a child he has always felt helplessness due to the problems that happen in his country and in the world without being able to do anything, this helplessness has served as a motor and motivation to be able to reach at some point to help people on a local or global scale. they need it. Due to this and other reasons, Sebastián became interested in the world of the MUN, where he has been a delegate and board of directors for more than 7 years, since he considers that in addition to being very fun, they also work as professional training for the future.
In addition to being passionate about debating, he also likes to spend time watching movies or enjoying a good video game.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
Noris was born in the small and beautiful country of Panama in January 2004. By the time she was 15 years old, she was invited by her best friend to join the Debate Club of her school. This marked the beginning of her journey in Model United Nations (MUN), but she has primarily excelled in the British Parliament and World Schools formats, both nationally and internationally. During the pandemic, she took a break from debating while simultaneously searching for what and where she would study. She quickly fell in love with Salamanca and everything it offered as a university city. She has been residing there since 2022, pursuing studies in Information Science.

While in Salamanca, she encountered friends from Panama who invited her to join MUNUSAL, an idea that she liked, but she felt somewhat rusty due to the long period without practice. Due to her curiosity and creativity, she became interested in the press committee, where she would be involved in everything and strengthen her knowledge through the narration of the events in each committee. She achieved recognition for her participation and has recently joined the ExCom to contribute her support in enhancing this great event.
